    Day 1 – Budapest, Hungary

    Arrive in Budapest and board your Viking river ship. Settle into your stateroom before exploring Hungary’s capital, where historic Buda and vibrant Pest sit on opposite sides of the Danube. Wander through the Castle District, take in sweeping river views, or simply relax on board as your European journey begins.

    Day 2 – Budapest

    Enjoy a full day discovering Budapest’s rich history and culture. Cross the iconic Chain Bridge, explore grand boulevards and cafés, or visit one of the city’s famous thermal baths. Optional excursions provide deeper insight into Hungary’s architecture, cuisine and traditions.

    Day 3 – Vienna, Austria

    Arrive in elegant Vienna, a city renowned for imperial architecture and classical music. Admire ornate palaces, grand boulevards and historic cafés. Whether you choose a guided city tour or explore at your own pace, Vienna offers a refined blend of culture, art and tradition.

    Day 4 – Vienna

    Spend more time uncovering Vienna’s treasures. Visit world-class museums, stroll through charming neighbourhoods or enjoy a traditional Viennese coffee and pastry. The city’s relaxed sophistication makes it easy to immerse yourself in its musical and artistic heritage.

    Day 5 – Scenic Sailing & Wachau Valley

    Cruise through the picturesque Wachau Valley, a UNESCO-listed region known for vineyard-covered hills and charming riverside villages. Later, visit Melk’s impressive Benedictine Abbey, a masterpiece of baroque architecture overlooking the Danube.

    Day 6 – Passau, Germany

    Arrive in Passau, often called the “City of Three Rivers,” where the Danube, Inn and Ilz meet. Stroll through the charming old town lined with pastel-coloured buildings, and visit the impressive St Stephen’s Cathedral, home to one of the world’s largest pipe organs.     Day 7 – Regensburg, Germany

    Explore Regensburg, one of Germany’s best-preserved medieval cities and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Wander cobbled streets, admire Gothic spires and discover centuries of history in the old town. Whether joining a guided excursion or exploring independently, Regensburg offers a fascinating glimpse into the region’s Roman and medieval past.

    Day 8 – Scenic Sailing & Nuremberg, Germany

    Today includes scenic cruising along the Main–Danube Canal, an engineering achievement linking major European waterways. Arrive in Nuremberg, a city with deep historical significance. Visit the old town and market square, or learn more about its role in 20th-century history through guided excursions.

    Day 9 – Bamberg, Germany

    Discover Bamberg, a beautifully preserved medieval town set across seven hills. Its UNESCO-listed old town features half-timbered houses, a striking cathedral and the unique Old Town Hall perched over the river. Sample local Franconian specialities or simply enjoy exploring this charming and compact city.

    Day 10 – Würzburg, Germany

    Arrive in Würzburg, located in the heart of Franconian wine country. Visit the magnificent Würzburg Residence, a UNESCO-listed baroque palace renowned for its grand staircase and ceiling frescoes. Surrounded by vineyards and historic architecture, Würzburg offers a refined blend of culture, history and regional flavour.

    Day 11 – Wertheim & Scenic Sailing: Main River

    Arrive in Wertheim, a picturesque town known for its half-timbered houses and hilltop castle ruins. Explore its charming streets and long-standing glassmaking traditions before returning to your ship. Later, enjoy scenic cruising along the Main River through the Franconian countryside, where vineyards and historic villages line the riverbanks.

    Day 12 – Scenic Sailing: Middle Rhine & Koblenz, Germany

    Cruise through the dramatic Middle Rhine, a UNESCO-listed stretch of river dotted with castles and steep vineyard slopes. Keep an eye out for the legendary Lorelei Rock as you sail. Arrive in Koblenz, where the Rhine and Moselle Rivers meet, and explore the historic old town and scenic riverfront.

    Day 13 – Cologne, Germany

    Day 14 – Scenic Sailing & Kinderdijk, The Netherlands

    Sail along the Waal and Merwede waterways as you approach the Netherlands. Visit Kinderdijk’s famous windmills, a UNESCO World Heritage Site that showcases traditional Dutch water management. The countryside here offers a striking contrast to the historic cities visited earlier in your journey.

    Day 15 – Amsterdam, The Netherlands
